The Toronto annual bike show will be held at the CNE's Direct Energy Centre this year. At the Bike Show you will find displays from many of Toronto's bike shops and other distributors and well as bmx and freestyle trick riding contests and races.

In addition, City of Toronto CAN-BIKE experts will be on site taking questions at their booth, and handing out information about 2009 CAN-BIKE courses. On the weekend, hours are 10am - 7pm on the Saturday, and a 6pm finish on Sunday. On Friday 13

March hours are noon - 9pm. Entry is $8 for kids (five-twelve years) and senior citizens, and $13 for everyone else. Enter at Hall A.

The BikeSmart Scholarship program is aimed at young adults from the City of Toronto who will be receiving their Ontario Secondary School Diploma by the end of the 2008-09 high-school academic year and moving on to a post-secondary program. The program intends to support young adults in their continued education by providing a bike that can be used to get them to and from school. One male and one female applicant will be provided with a cycling package valued at approximately $1,000:

• A city bike for commuting to school
• A bike bag and a cycling jacket that makes sure they can ride in almost any condition
• A helmet, lock, bell and other accessories

2009 Eligibility:

Applicants must be a student in a City of Toronto high-school who has been accepted into a post-secondary program, including but not limited to university, college, apprenticeship and professional certification/training.
